You started a thread : http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/368940008/really-true-worshipEveryone should read it and come to the conclusion that the WTBTS structures every little detail that suits and benefits them. It is ''BIBLE LITE.'' Everything is boring because that's what they really want."DON'T THINK FOR YOURSELF,WE WILL DO ALL THE THINKING FOR YOU." CONTROL every detail and everyone will be in unity. The ''SPIRITUAL FOOD'' is rotten for a reason.
w10 5/1 p. 31 Title: "Our Readers Ask . . . What is a Kingdom Hall?""A Kingdom Hall is a house of worship used by Jehovah’s Witnesses for their religious services."
In that the above is published and claimed by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses, a look at what the Bible says of worship is very much worthy of examination and some verses are cited below from Vine's Expository Dictionary. An examination of the Bible using such a scholarly and independent text will help in determining whether the Governing Body's claim of "true worship" is meritricious or meritorious.
If you are studying with Jehovah's Witnesses, you will be regularly "encouraged" to attend the local Kingdom Hall. If you do decide to attend, note what actually takes place during the meeting (and extolled as "true worship") compared with how the Bible describes worship (reverence, homage, awe, devotion, serve, honour religiously, religious homage (according to Vines expository dictionary).
Note too how extensive reference is made to items of literature published by the "Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses" and how little attention is paid to the Bible. For example, several years ago, it was common for a Brother to give a Bible dissertation involving an introduction, actual reading of a segment of the Bible, and then a concluding summary (usually application). Time allowed for this was 5 minutes. Then the introduction and conclusion (Brothers' composed such) was eliminated in favour of Bible reading only with the time curtailed to 4 minutes. As of this year, the time has been reduced further to a mere 3 minutes! Similarly an item called "Bible Highlights" given by a Ministerial Servant or Elder has had its time curtailed from 10 minutes to 8 minutes! Even before the time allowances were curtailed, the duration of time given to the Bible could hardly be regared as anything remotely deserving.
If you attend a "Watchtower Study" at the weekend, note how the "study" conductor draws a surprising amount of attention to any artwork / photos in the magazine and which is usually inconsequential. Watch out too for scriptures being referenced out of context (contrary to study 22 [Scriptures correctly applied] of the JW public speaking manual). Pay attention to the quality of what is being said. Is the meeting truly erudite or edifying? Is it perhaps banal; even soporific? In your heart of hearts, did you enjoy the meeting or endure it? -

My family still attends to keep my folks happy. it's amazing how productive those two hours can be. I read ebooks, play suduko and do crossword puzzles while sitting pretty in the audience and no one is the wiser.I would bring THE NEW YORKER magazine and read the main article which usually took 45 minutes to read. That was the only way I would make it through the boring Watchtower study.
One time an elder's little son looked back from his seat and caught me reading something different than the Watchtower. He looked at me and asked me,'' What are you reading?'' I said,''The Watchtower!'' He said,''That's not the Watchtower!'' He then tried to tell his mom on what he saw but the mom told him to be quiet.

Thank you for posting this video! I tried twice to but don't seem to know how to embed a video..
This video is 100% accurate. The monotone speakers, the parroted word for word answers, the little kids answering either too loud or barely audible),the awful singing, the little kid getting slapped because she is bored and is expected to listen in for 2 hours, everyone looking at the clock which never seems to move, the sister who highlights the whole Watchtower article and the brother that isn't prepared and never studied it( hey! that was me), the study going 15 minutes overtime,etc.etc. -

The Watchtower Publishing house was founded by amateur bible theologians who were more endeavored to sell and promote their literature than anything else. The Ministry School was the worst.Listening to demonstrations on how to place books and magazines week after week became unbearable. It was no better than an Amway,Mary Kay Cosmetics and Avon sales meeting.I figured that the WTBTS were just a literature corporation when they promoted the 180 page books that were dated and collecting dust in a warehouse.

awful song book with horrible singing
little kids answering - while everyone thought how cute that was I was cringing
little boys around 10 years old giving a talk while sisters were made to pretend they were in a conversation or study
Watchtower Study- read paragraph and repeat answer like a good little parrot
Public talks-how many times were these talks done
prayers thanking the faithful and discreet slave
ministry school demonstrations where every householder accepts literature or bible study
sending our love to other congregations with applause
coming back from a 4 day assembly and 3 days later having a 45 minute talk on what we just listened to in sweltering heat outside in a stadium in the middle of July

What was your ''the last straw that broke the camels back'' moment
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthere is a limit to how much straw (long yellow grass) a camel can carry on its back.
if you keep putting more straw on top, it will finally break the camel's back.
when you are at the last straw you are finally angry and will not take any more.. my moment (to stop attending all watchtower meetings) was after the harsh treatment from the elders and fellow congregation members of my second cousin who was disfellowhipped as a teenager.

One final straw after another!
A big straw was the illustration of the organisations structure - you know? GB at the top in deluxe leather boardroom chairs....No Jesus (surely you'd expect at least a nod to him in the illustration - aren't they Christian?) it got me on an emotional level - it felt like they were absolutely mocking us. -

You stated: My last straw with him was when he sent me 20 days of sermons and Bible verses instead of directly answering all of my questions regarding what had been going on between us for 5 years. Can you elaborate? Was he bullying you, sexually harassing or was there a romance that needed to end?
